About Mogabiri Farm Extension Centre
Empowering communities through sustainable agriculture, agroecology, environmental stewardship, and improved livelihoods in Tarime and beyond.
Who We Are
Mogabiri Farm Extension Centre (MFEC) is a faith-based organization established in 1986 under the Anglican Church of Tanzania, Diocese of Tarime, in Tarime District, Mara Region. The centre exists to empower rural communities by improving livelihoods through sustainable agriculture, community health awareness, environmental conservation, and social empowerment. As a hub for agricultural learning, innovation, and collaboration, MFEC promotes agroecology by encouraging farming systems that protect biodiversity, improve soil health, strengthen resilience, and support long-term food security for smallholder farmers and their families.
Through participatory training, partnerships, and practical community-based initiatives, MFEC continues to equip farmers, women, youth, and vulnerable groups with the knowledge and skills needed to build self-reliant and sustainable livelihoods.

Our Programs
We deliver practical solutions that improve livelihoods, protect the environment, and strengthen communities.
Sustainable Agriculture Training
MFEC trains smallholder farmers on improved farming methods, crop production, soil management, and climate-smart practices to improve productivity and food security.
Agroecology & Environmental Conservation
We promote agroecology, ecological land use, and environmental conservation to support biodiversity, healthy soils, and long-term agricultural sustainability.
Community Health Awareness
MFEC raises awareness on preventive and curative health practices, including communicable and non-communicable diseases, hygiene, and environmental health.
Entrepreneurship & Income Generation
We strengthen small income-generating groups through entrepreneurship support, capital management, and financial empowerment initiatives.
Why Our Work Matters
Rural communities continue to face poverty, environmental pressures, low agricultural productivity, and limited access to skills and services that support better livelihoods. MFEC responds to these challenges by building local capacity, encouraging community ownership, and creating practical pathways toward self-reliance and resilience.
Our work combines sustainable agriculture, agroecology, environmental care, entrepreneurship, gender inclusion, and health awareness to bring holistic transformation that lasts.
